Memories

The summer, that special time between June and September that we have all for ourselves to decide what to do with. I spend three weeks of my summer in lovely Norway, spend the time making new memories to cherish. Like the day we spend at Namskogan wildlife park, first time I met a bear in person! (and a troll to) and elk turned out to be even bigger from close by as I had expected!

With all the new and exciting developments it will be a longer while before I’ll be visiting this beautiful country again,  I’m glad I got to spent my summer there =)

perfect song for post summer reminiscing =)

Rescue dogs in action

I finally found time to show you the pictures I took of the rescue dogs just outside of Pornic. It was just absolutely incredible to see what those big, a little bit bulky og very hairy dogs could do!

Raindrops keep falling on my head

Over alt, blåskjell, rare skjell, blanke skjell.

After flying over lovely tulips, my boyfriend showed up at the airport as usual. The rest of the Thursday and the whole Friday was spent in The Netherlands preparing for the trip. Early Saturday morning, we finally left. It didn’t take more than maybe 15 minutes to reach the Belgium border, and from there it was straight to France through Lille and then further on to the highways of Paris. We managed to get all the way to Pornic after that the grocery stores closed, but lucky for us they were open on Sundays to. As if we hadn’t been sitting enough in the car already, in the afternoon we went out sightseeing a little bit. The weather was far from perfect, windy as heck but at least we got to see lovely rescue dogs in training. It was amazing how strong and agile those big newfoundler dogs were. I’m showing off those pictures a little bit later though, too many to put in one post.

Airborne wonders

Herlig!

Tulips seen from the sky
Colorful welcoming

Flying over the coast of The Netherlands and towars Schipol, Amstedam airport isn’t exactly the most interesting trip to take. Either it has been too dark for me to see anything, or there has only been windmills and tons of ships at sea. But at the 26th of April, amazing colors from fields of tulips popped up! It was absolutely amazing to see all of those colors beaming up at us. Awesome, right?!

Hiding between a stack of tiles, between the stones of the house, on the garden wall, even right on the doorstep, lizards everywhere! More specificity Podarcis muralis, the European wall lizard. A large, happy? (I just read they are cannibals), family of them kept us company at a holiday home in France last week. When the afternoon sun stood high in the sky and heated up the walls they where quite easy to spot and take a picture.

Here you can read some more about them.

Apparently some have moved over to the states in the 50’s when a little boy took them over from Italy. I wonder how they’d like it at my place.

I’m dreaming of a white Easter?

Bing Crosby sang about a white Christmas as a pinnacle of cosiness and Christmas spirit. In Norway the people are so cool that they even rock a white Easter as I found out last month.
